December part II

Katie had a wonderful second Christmas.

She enjoyed the festive period, especially all the Christmas trees and pretty lights and music. Her favourite Christmas song in 2017 was Kay Thompson's Jingle Bells sung by Andy Williams and whenever this came on she immediately dropped everything to get up and dance.

Daddy put up the outdoor lights on December 1st, but we didn't decorate indoors until after we got back from visiting family.

Buying the tree

This year our tree had a guard around it to stop Katie from pulling it over or hurting herself on the glass baubles.

Greeting Mummy upon her return from an evening walk

It was forecast to rain all day on Christmas Day (which it did), so we had our Christmas walk on Christmas Eve instead. Katie met Rudolph the red-nosed reindeer

Twas the night before Christmas...

Katie got much more involved in everything than last year and managed to open all her presents in less than an hour. She got lots of new toys, clothes and books, including books in French and German and a Japanese CD to continue her foreign language learning.

She danced along to Christmas carols and to her new book 'The wheels on the bus' from Grandpa and Grandma Jo...

She ate lots of Christmas food, including roast potato, parsnips, plums, jelly and even wolfed down a Brussels sprout!

Thanks to everyone who made our day so special.

  1. Looks like a great Christmas - it's great that Katie had such a nice time :D

  2. Well done for eating a Brussels sprout Katie, that's one of my favourite vegetables that I like to eat... Yumm Yumm... :D

  3. So glad you had a good time - 'All day long...'

  4. How enjoyable. I had quite forgotten that this blog existed.

  5. In fact I've just realised that the Family Blogs window in my sidebar has gone. How odd.
