The weather improved in April and Katie enjoyed getting out in the garden with Mummy and Daddy.

She moved out of her carrycot and into her pushchair seat so that she could look around more,

though sometimes it could be a little tiring

She got out of the pushchair to see many things, including her first river, her first canal

first bluebell wood, orchard and many more.

Mummy loves apple blossom

and Katie seems to like it too

Katie went on her first swing

and then her second, only a couple of weeks later

She played on a log:

and had fun indoors too

She especially loves 'flying' with Mummy or Daddy

and practising standing

She also started solid foods, and tried the following in the month of April:

Veg: potato, peas, broccoli, carrot, parsnip, sweet potato, cucumber, kale, courgette, green beans & spinach.
Fruit: pear, avocado, banana, apple, peach, plum, melon, apricot, rhubarb & mango.
Others: baby rice, baby porridge, rice cake, baked toast fingers, weetabix & red lentils.

In her new highchair

Are you sure this one is edible Daddy?

Over the Easter weekend we made our first trip north with Katie to see family.

Meeting cousin Toby

in the house where Mummy grew up

Having family photographs taken in the garden

Uncle Mark, cousin Toby (who likes to pull tongues) and Auntie Bryony

With Grandma Linda

The babies find each other far more interesting than the camera

Katie loves to look at flowers

Auntie Bryony keeps making her laugh

At Preston Cemetery to see Nana and Grandad's grave

This is how she got her name

Visiting The Willows

Looking at books with Grandpa and Washington Bear

Showing Grandma Jo how well she can stand

Katie also managed to meet her Great Uncle Pete, Great Auntie Irene, Great Godmother (if such a thing exists) Beryl, and Mummy's family friends: Pat, Geoff, Frankie and Derek. It was a very tiring trip, but everyone enjoyed it very much. A big thank you to everyone we were able to visit or who came to see Katie.
